Take the Sting Out of Slicing Hot Chile Peppers
If you are right handed.
Coat your left hand with a bit of vegetable oil. Do not oil the hand you hold the knife with!
Cut the hot chilies, jalapeno peppers or other spicy peppers and hold them only with your oiled hand.
When done, wash your hands with warm water and plenty of soap.
The oil will prevent the hot and spicy pepper juice from penetrating into your hand prevent the sting or afterburn after chopping hot chile peppers.
And if you're left-handed, just oil up your right hand and hold the knife in your left hand!
