Directions

Best Bisquick Spinach Quiche

Preheat oven to 400℉ (200℃).

Coat a pie plate with cooking spray, grease with butter, or use a light coat of vegetable oil.

Layer the first 4 ingredients, onion, red bell pepper, cheese and spinach into bottom of pie plate.

Mix the remaining ingredients, Bisquick baking mix, milk, eggs, salt and pepper with hand mixer and pour over other ingredients.

Bake 400℉ (200℃) for 35 minutes.

Let stand for 5 or 10 minutes before serving.

Enjoy.

Very dry! Inedible!! Had to throw out. Where’s the milk??

Just made this recipe this morning and it was very moist. Make sure you drain the frozen spinach very well by squeezing out and liquid in a colander. I also found it served better after waiting about 10 to 15 minutes for it to cool to allow the moisture from the veggies to redistribute itself.

Very easy and virtually impossible to ‘mess’ up ! So flexible w/ different veggies! I sauté all veggies slightly. Cheesy and veggie … delish

What do you mean by a “box” of spinach?

Boxes of Spinach are found in the frozen food section of the grocery store... usually 10 oz.

These are easy breakfast dishes! I put a little extra flavor by adding minced garlic, 1/8c of drained fresh salsa and 1/4tsp of paprika. I saute the veggies and add till wilted 1/3c fresh spinach w/o stems. Yum!

You can add bacon, cut in pieces. It’s not dry.

What type of cheese?

I would recommend Swiss cheese, but using any grated cheddar cheese will work just fine.

Does the frozen chopped spinach have to be cooked before adding it to the mix, or can it be defrosted and squeezed-dry?

This is a very old Bisquick recipe that I loved. Unfortunately, hubby hated spinach, so I didn't make it while we were married. He passed away last month, and the first thing I did was run out and buy a package of Bisquick and frozen spinach. I can't wait to make it again -- and I'm gonna eat the entire quiche myself!
