Directions

In a medium pot, bring 6 cups of water to the boil. Meanwhile prepare a large bowl of ice water to shock the sugar snap peas, locking in the color and to prevent over-cooking.

Add the salt and peas to the boiling water and cook until tender-crisp.

Using a slotted spoon transfer the sugar snap peas to the ice water. Drain and pat dry.

The sugar snap peas can be prepared this way up to an hour in advance for use in another recipe.

"until tender crisp". What a stupid recipe. Could you not just say 5 minutes or ten minutes, like in a normal intelligent recipe?

anonymous

If you look above, it clearly states to cook for 5 minutes.

Joy

5 minutes is likely too long for a tender-crisp snap pea. I suppose the size of the pod would dictate time...

anonymous

Grrrrrrrrrr I'm so angry!!

anonymous

The person is right; 5 min prep time is not clearly indicating the cook time

anonymous

The instructions are clearly marked above the ingredients.

anonymous

Five minutes is WAY too long. 2 mins max. Probably only a minute will do the tril

Idiots I read it clearly

anonymous

Wow, people are super angry over this recipe! Take it easy. If this makes you mad I can’t even imagine something important.

anonymous

This is way too complicated, is it 5 minutes or 2minutes or until tender or crisp? Haaaaa,

anonymous

like pasta...they're done when they're done. pull one out and check it. there's no exact time.

anonymous

Omg so rude over blanching snap peas … really ?

anonymous

If you boil them for 5 minutes, they will be mush. Boil for 1-2 minutes. I usually check after 1 minute. I blanch them often for a salad that I make.

anonymous

What a childish bunch of rants. I'd hate to cut you off accidentally while driving. Give Joy - Get Joy.
