Directions
Preheat the oven to 325° F.
Melt the chocolate and butter in a double boiler until the mixture melts and becomes smooth. (Alternatively you can use the microwave to melt the mixture ).
Add the sugar and eggs, stir until well mixed.
Stir in the flour and cherries until well combined.
Spread half of the batter evenly into a 13- x 9-inch pan greased with butter.
In a large bowl with an electric mixer, beat the cream cheese, ¼ cup sugar, 1 egg yolk, and vanilla at medium speed until smooth.
Dollop the cream cheese mixture over the batter in the pan.
Dollop with the remaining brownie batter, and swirl with a paring knife.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 40 minutes until a wooden stick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Remove from the oven and allow to cool for at least one hour on a wire rack.
Cut into the squares and serve, or they can be kept in air-tight container.
