Great Grilled Flounder

This is an excellent recipe for grilling flounder. The cajan seasoning is very good. I followed the recipe but I didn't have worchestershire sauce. I would use this recipe again.

This is an excellent and easy recipe for grilling flounder. The cajun seasoning on the flounder is very tasty. I followed the recipe as suggested but I didn't have worcestershire sauce. Yes, I would use this recipe again.

Fantastic! we just purchased a new grill with searing capabilities ... It was great with fresh flounder!

Did you place fish directly in grill or did you use a pan of some sort

anonymous

Absolutely delicious!!! I cooked the fish on my griddle inside. Fast and easy.

Great to hear that you guys all enjoyed this recipe. Happy Cooking :)

Awesome I used citrus Fiesta salt free seasoning

sean

Perfect. The citrus seasoning is a great alternative to Cajun on fish or any seafood in general.

Ok, so what is that green sauce that the flounder is sitting on in the picture?

sean

Minted pea pureé

Do you need cajun seasoning?

I used this recipe but I coated the fish with light cajun seasoning and then poured on the liquid and put it in a pan on the grill. It came out FANTASTIC! Would recommend.

What's in cajun seasoning?

happyzhangbo

A blend of seasonings for Cajun cuisine that generally includes chiles and other spices such as celery, garlic, mustard, onion, and pepper. Hope this helps, and happy cooking :)

Try Old Bay Cajun seasoning. It's a perfect blend

Is the olive oil in the basting sauce or just used to coat the grill?

happyzhangbo

The olive oil is in the basting sauce. For sure you can coat the grill with additional olive oil as well. Happy Grilling :)

anonymous

Can I grill this in tin foil

happyzhangbo

Yes, you can certainly grill the fish in the foil, which will create a steaming environment and result in soft texture inside out instead of a crispy texture on the outside if grilling without foil. Hope this helps, and happy grilling :)

The flounder looks wonderful. What is it served over in the picture and could you please provide the recipe?

happyzhangbo

Glad that you like the recipe. The dish was served with easy pea purée. Just search for easy pee purée, and you will be able to locate the recipe. Hope this helps and happy cooking :)

How or what can I use to keep the flounder from sticking to the grill? We oil the grill well first but it almost always falls apart. And we like it a little crispy.

Peggy

I use those copper mats to cook fish on grill. Doesn't stick

Jeff

The fish will basically saute in the oil and become a mushy mess. We just did that. It was the worst fish I have ever grilled. Absolutely awful.

Dayna

This dish was delicious! We used a little extra Cajun seasoning as the baste was a little watery. Excellent dish, we’llmake again.

Hank

Great taste! I grilled in a basket to make it easy to turn.

Deb

I cooked this in an iron skillet. The pan was filled with water. I dumped it out but there was more. Is is this normal? I am new to cooking fish

William

Fish should be dried-off before oiled... perhaps, your fish was previously frozen and had retained residual moisture
