Directions
Sift the flour, add baking powder, salt and egg.
Mix well and kneed dough until smooth, about 10 minutes, leave aside for 20 to 25 minutes.
In wax paper roll out dough to from a large rectangle12x12 inch, thick ⅛ inch.
Cut in to even ¼ inch stripes. afterthat cut 1/2x½ inch cubes (squares).
Heat oil and fry cubes until golden brown.
In a thick bottomed pan put coconut pani, sugar and bring to boil up to 100 cup degrees, using thermometer.
Then add the pani mixture to the cubes and mix well.
Pour the mixture greased cookie sheet. press firmly mixture until compact, about one inch in height.
Allow to cool about one hour.
Cut in to squares.
Serve and enjoy.
